Global Challenge Award
The 2010 VT KnowledgeWorks Global Student Business Concept Challenge was made possible thanks to the generous Global Challenge Event Sponsors, including COTA, G.J. Hopkins Inc., HCA VA Health System, Interactive Achievement, Novozymes, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, Rackspace, TechLab, The Branch Group Inc., and the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center.

STUDENT TRACK - $25,000 Grand Prize
The VT KnowledgeWorks Global Student Business Concept Challenge celebrates the energy and ingenuity of university students and their important contributions to the global economy. The contest finals are part of a week-long celebration of student entrepreneurship.  While in Blacksburg, the teams will be housed with local families, spend interactive time with successful technology companies, enjoy fellowship with Virginia Tech students, and join the regional technology council for its annual gala dinner.

First Place Winning Team:
  • Ecosy - Vincent Murray and Colm Connolly of Queen's University, Belfast, Northern Ireland
Runner-up Teams:
  • EasyCheck - Inbal Gutman, Hadas Geva, Efrat Nel, and Shahar Peled of the Ruppin Academic Center, Israel
  • T2T - Ben Giambrone and Sinan Assaf of the University of Kent, England 

LOCAL ATTENDEE TRACK
Attendees from the New River and Roanoke Valleys are encouraged to attend and observe the Global Student Business Concept Challenge at The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center. Tickets are available for purchase to attend "Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century Workshop," led by Jim Flowers, Director of VT KnowledgeWorks, and the Global Student Challenge and Awards Ceremony September 1- 2, 2010. This two-day event agenda at Hotel Roanoke includes:
